Guadagnino's Artificial Draws New Bids as Mubi Circles

After Amazon MGM Studios exited Luca Guadagnino’s AI drama Artificial, several buyers—Focus Features, Warner Bros.’ Clockwork, A24 and Netflix—have reportedly passed, while Mubi is pursuing the project with Neon also circling. CAA Media Finance is seeking a new home for the nearly completed film, written by Simon Rich and led by Andrew Garfield, which centers on OpenAI figures Sam Altman and Ilya Sutskever. Depending on who buys it, the movie could target a Venice premiere or festival run (SXSW had been in play before the exit).
