Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Octet Enlists Seyfried, Zegler, Groff in Star-Studded Film Adaptation

Amanda Seyfried and Rachel Zegler have joined Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Octet film musical, with Tramell Tillman, Phillipa Soo, Gaten Matarazzo, Jonathan Groff, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Paula, and Paul-Jordan Jansen rounding out the cast; Seyfried will play Jessica, Zegler Velma, and Tillman Marvin. The adaptation of Dave Malloy’s musical, directed by Annie Tippe, follows eight internet-obsessed people who lock away their phones to connect, marking Miranda’s second feature directing effort.
