Melissa Barrera Responds to Scream 7 Protest With 'I See You'
TL;DR
During the Scream 7 world premiere at Paramount Studios, protesters outside called for a boycott over Melissa Barrera's Israel-Hamas posts; Barrera seemingly acknowledged them with an Instagram Story reading 'I see you' (heart emoji). Kevin Williamson said protesters have the right to be heard, while Deadline notes Barrera was fired from the franchise in 2023 over her posts; Jenna Ortega exited earlier and Campbell returned, with Williamson directing. The protest highlighted concerns about silencing pro-Palestinian voices in the industry and Gaza's ongoing conflict.
