Universal Pictures is rebooting Miami Vice as Miami Vice ’85, with Michael B. Jordan and Austin Butler set to star as Crockett and Tubbs, directed by Joseph Kosinski. The film, produced by Dylan Clark and Kosinski and written by Dan Gilroy, will be shot in IMAX and targets an August 6, 2027 release, revisiting the mid-80s Miami glamour and crime from the original series; Jordan and Butler closed deals after the project was greenlit.
