TL;DR

Neve Campbell returns as Sidney Prescott in a Scream 7 that aims for a back-to-basics, analog slasher vibe under Kevin Williamson, but the result is a largely conventional, not very scary entry that leans on nostalgia rather than fresh suspense. While there are occasional standout moments and performances, the meta-commentary that once defined the series feels worn thin and the film ultimately reads as basic rather than daring.
