SAG-AFTRA Seeks Approval for Second Video Game Strike

SAG-AFTRA, the labor union representing performers in the entertainment industry, is seeking authorization for a second strike against major video game companies due to a "stalemate" in contract negotiations. The union is demanding wage increases, protection from artificial intelligence, rest periods, safety protections, and an on-set medic for video games. The strike authorization vote is seen as leverage to achieve these demands. The union previously went on strike against video game companies in 2016, which lasted for 11 months.
