Astrology Forecast: October 2026 Brings Venus Retrograde and Mars-Saturn Alignment

Key points

• Venus retrograde runs from October 3 to November 13, affecting love and money.
• A Mars-Saturn alignment peaks on October 16, supporting durable action.
• Mercury retrograde begins on October 24, impacting communication.
• The new moon in Libra occurs on October 10.
• Pluto turns direct in Aquarius on October 15.

Background

Recent forecasts for early October emphasized social energy and communication tensions, with a Gemini Moon and Mercury-Lilith alignment noted on October 1. This month's outlook shifts focus to deeper introspection due to the onset of Venus retrograde.

How outlets are covering it

Susan Miller emphasizes the positive potential of the Mars-Saturn alignment on October 16 for Aries, suggesting it creates a sturdy foundation for actions planned at the October 10 new moon. She advises waiting until November 13 for new relationships or expensive beauty treatments due to Venus retrograde. In contrast, TODAY.com, citing astrologer Lisa Stardust, frames the month as a period for reassessment and evolution, noting that Venus retrograde in Scorpio offers a chance to reflect on love and money. Stardust highlights the luck of Gemini, Cancer, Sagittarius, and Pisces, while Miller focuses on the specific benefits for Aries. Both sources agree that the retrograde periods require caution, but Miller is more specific about avoiding cosmetic procedures, whereas Stardust focuses on communication and relationship dynamics.

Why it matters

Understanding these planetary movements helps individuals time major decisions, such as signing contracts or starting relationships, to avoid potential setbacks associated with retrograde periods. The Mars-Saturn alignment offers a rare opportunity to establish long-term stability, making it a critical window for strategic planning.

What to watch

Mercury retrograde begins on October 24, which may complicate communication and travel. The full moon in Taurus on October 26 is expected to bring growth and development. After November 13, when Venus and Mercury are no longer retrograde, the holiday season is predicted to be smoother for shopping and social interactions.
