Max Relaunch Sends Warner Bros. Discovery Shares Tumbling.

Warner Bros. Discovery has announced a new streaming service called "Max" that will combine the programming of HBO Max and Discovery+, replacing those services with one single subscription. It will launch on May 23 in the US and offer three subscription tiers. The new service will include a range of new programming, including a Harry Potter TV series, a new Game of Thrones prequel, and a new drama in The Conjuring universe. The launch of Max is evidence of the consolidation and mergers in the streaming industry, but the smaller number of services doesn't necessarily mean a smaller monthly spend for viewers.
