Judge orders Kennedy Center to pay $250K after performer canceled show over Trump name

A Washington, DC judge ordered the Kennedy Center to pay jazz musician Chuck Redd more than $250,000 in legal fees after Redd canceled his Christmas Eve show in protest of the center’s decision to add Donald Trump’s name to the building; the court dismissed the center’s breach-of-contract claim for lack of a signed agreement, and the center said it will appeal as Trump’s name was removed from the exterior and other artists had pulled out in the wake of the rename.
