Steven Seagal Defends Putin and Russian Identity Against U.S. Media

Actor Steven Seagal, who was awarded an Order of Friendship medal by Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2021, accused the US government of spreading "disinformation, lies" in the media to "try to discredit, demoralize, and destroy the emerging morale of Russia" during an event held by the International Movement of Russians in Moscow. Seagal, who was named the Russian Foreign Ministry's special representative for Russian-American humanitarian relations in 2018, also expressed his love for Russia and his belief that Putin is one of the greatest world leaders.
