Steven Seagal Defends Putin and Russian Identity Against U.S. Media

Actor Steven Seagal, who has been a longtime supporter of Russian President Vladimir Putin, accused the US government of spreading "disinformation, lies" in the media to discredit Russia during an event in Moscow. Seagal, who was awarded an Order of Friendship medal, also claimed that over half of Americans love Russia and know they are being lied to. He was named the Russian Foreign Ministry's special representative for Russian-American humanitarian relations in 2018 and has previously been banned from Ukraine.
