TL;DR

The final season of 'Mayor of Kingstown' will be shorter with eight episodes, ending after five seasons, possibly due to production costs, network limits, or story completion. The show, which has seen declining viewership compared to Sheridan's other series, is set to conclude as Sheridan shifts focus to other projects and moves to NBCUniversal. Despite the show's ending, Sheridan's universe will continue with upcoming spin-offs and related series.
