Dolly Parton Broadway Musical to Open on 81st Birthday at St. James

Dolly Parton’s musical Dolly: A True Original Musical will begin previews at Broadway’s St. James Theatre on December 7, 2026, with the official opening on January 19, 2027 (Parton’s 81st birthday). The Nashville-born show, written by Parton and Maria S. Schlatter and directed by Bartlett Sher, features Parton’s music alongside hits like “I Will Always Love You,” “Jolene,” “Coat of Many Colors,” and “9 to 5,” with a full creative team and casting to be announced as the production gears up. Tickets go on sale July 8.
