Dolly Parton Narrates Her Life On Broadway in a New Musical
Dolly Parton’s life story becomes a Broadway musical titled Dolly: A True Original Musical, with previews starting Dec. 7 and opening night Jan. 19 at the St. James Theatre. After a Nashville premiere in 2025, the show features Parton’s classic songs (I Will Always Love You, Jolene, Coat of Many Colors, 9 to 5) alongside new material, with a book by Parton and Maria S. Schlatter and direction by Bartlett Sher. Casting will be announced later; producers are Danny Nozell, Adam Speers for ATG Productions, and Gavin Kalin Productions, taking over the St. James stage after Titanique.
