TL;DR
The Los Angeles police are planning to increase their presence at the Academy Awards on Sunday night in anticipation of potential protests related to the Israel-Hamas war. Commander Randy Goddard stated that the police aim to ensure the safety of guests and the smooth running of the event, while also respecting protesters' First Amendment rights. The department will deploy additional resources to facilitate any demonstrations but will not tolerate any illegal activities that could disrupt the Oscars.
