TL;DR

Surveillance video shows a TODAY show security guard failed to stop an intruder from entering Studio 1A during a live segment, with one guard stepping away and the other overlooking the entry; the intruder, Andrew Truelove, confronted host Craig Melvin and yelled racist slurs before being arrested by NYPD, who have charged him with hate crimes. The guard was fired, Melvin and the team addressed the breach on air, and NBC says it’s cooperating with the investigation; Savannah Guthrie was away for a long weekend at the time.
