Internal documents from companies such as DuPont and 3M revealed that the chemicals could cause liver enlargement, poisonings, and birth defects in children. Despite this, executives allegedly sat on the evidence and allowed the chemicals to continue to be used in various products. Studies suggest that over 97% of Americans have PFAS chemicals in their blood. Minnesota is set to become the first state to ban PFAS completely by 2025.
