Researchers at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) have identified atypical interactions between the brain’s frontal cortex and deep information processing centers as being associated with symptoms of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in youth. The study, which examined over 10,000 functional brain images, found heightened connectivity between specific brain structures in youth with ADHD, shedding light on the underlying brain processes contributing to ADHD symptoms and providing valuable insights for future research and treatment.
