Florida patient among first to receive robotic Aquablation for enlarged prostate

A St. Johns County man, Patrick Hyland, is among the first patients treated with the HYDROS Robotic System and Aquablation at Ascension St. Vincent’s St. Johns County Hospital for benign prostatic hyperplasia (enlarged prostate). The AI-guided, robotically controlled water-jet procedure maps each patient’s prostate and uses a targeted urethral jet to carve away tissue, creating a larger urinary channel with minimal invasiveness. Doctors report a less than 5% chance of needing a repeat procedure, and Hyland notes his symptoms—nighttime urination and sleep disruption—have improved, with restored energy and activity levels.
