Tick-borne Babesiosis spreading across multiple US states, warns CDC.

Cases of tick-borne illnesses, including the rare disease Babesiosis, have increased by 25% in the US since 2011, with significant increases in eight northeastern states. The disease is transmitted by black-legged ticks and can cause mild to severe illness, including fever, fatigue, and anemia. Yale scientist Goudarz Molaei suggests that shorter winters due to climate change may be contributing to the increase in tick-borne diseases. The CDC recommends using tick repellents, wearing long sleeves and pants, and performing tick checks after spending time outdoors.
