Tragic Death of 2-Year-Old Boy in Las Vegas Linked to Brain-Eating Amoeba

A two-year-old boy in Las Vegas has died from a rare brain-eating amoeba, known as Naegleria fowleri, after contracting it while swimming in Ash Springs. The boy's health deteriorated rapidly after experiencing flu-like symptoms, and despite efforts to treat the infection, he passed away. The brain-eating amoeba thrives in warm water and enters the body through the nose, causing destruction of brain tissue. This disease is considered rare, with only 29 infections reported in the US over the past nine years. A GoFundMe has been set up to help cover the funeral expenses.
