"Using Light and Sound to Clear Alzheimer's Toxins"

A new headset called Cognito, developed by MIT researchers, uses light and sound therapy at 40 hertz to treat Alzheimer's. In a study with 74 participants, those who used the device for an hour daily showed a 77% slowing in functional decline, 76% slowing in cognitive difficulties, and a 69% reduction in brain atrophy compared to a placebo group. While the device didn't reduce dense amyloid plaques, it may clear a more diffuse type of amyloid that spreads throughout the brain. More research is needed to fully understand the therapeutic benefits of gamma wave activity in Alzheimer's treatment.
