Pastor Faces $2.45m Penalty for Transmitting Herpes to Woman

A Texas pastor, Reverend Ralph D West II, has been ordered to pay $2.45m in damages after a jury found him liable for giving a woman herpes during unprotected sex. The woman's attorney presented medical records and tests to prove that the pastor was the source of the infection. The pastor allegedly admitted to having herpes but claimed to have contracted it from his son's mother. The jury awarded $1.45m in compensatory damages and $1m in punitive damages.
