Multiple Fatalities in Florida Plane Crashes

Two couples from Indiana died after a small plane, occupied by four people, crashed into the Gulf of Mexico near Venice Fishing Pier. The pilot, William Lumpkin, and his wife, Patricia Lumpkin, along with Ricky Beaver and Elizabeth Beaver, were killed. The crash is under investigation by the FAA, NTSB, Venice Fire Rescue, and Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office. Investigations into fatal crashes typically take between 12 and 24 months to complete.
