Disney CEO condemns DeSantis' anti-business actions.

Disney CEO Bob Iger criticized Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for his apparent retaliation against the company after it opposed a bill restricting classroom discussion of sexual orientation and gender identity. DeSantis and the Florida legislature moved to eliminate Disney's virtual autonomy over a 24,000-acre parcel surrounding the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando. Iger called DeSantis' actions "anti-business" and "anti-Florida," noting that Disney employs 75,000 people in the state and plans to deepen its investment there. At the shareholder meeting, Iger also addressed criticism that Disney has become an "ideological company serving the LGBTQ community," saying the company's primary mission is to entertain and have a positive impact on the world.
