"Rise in Americans Linking Extreme Weather to Climate Change, Poll Shows"

A recent poll conducted by the Associated Press/NORC found that nearly 90% of Americans have experienced extreme weather events in the past five years, with over 60% attributing it at least partially to climate change, a 10-point increase from earlier this year. The share of Americans who reported experiencing extreme heat also increased significantly. While 74% of Democrats say their concerns about climate change have increased, only 29% of Republicans share the same sentiment. Despite this, GOP presidential candidates have largely ignored the issue on the campaign trail. The poll also revealed that older adults are more likely than younger adults to become more concerned about climate change.
