Alex Murdaugh admits to lying about dogs causing housekeeper's fatal fall

Lawyers for Alex Murdaugh, the convicted South Carolina lawyer, have said that he lied about dogs causing the fatal fall of his longtime housekeeper, Gloria Satterfield, in 2018. The lawyers made the statement as part of a lawsuit accusing Murdaugh of life insurance fraud in Satterfield's death. The lawsuit alleges that Murdaugh defrauded Nautilus Insurance Co. by inventing the story that dogs caused Satterfield's fall to receive millions of dollars in a settlement. Murdaugh was convicted in March of murdering his wife and son and was sentenced to life in prison without parole.
