At least two dozen Antioch police officers sent racist and homophobic texts, including calling Black residents "gorillas," "monkeys," and "water buffalo," and using slurs like "n—" and "faggot." The offensive texts, from 2019 to 2022, were revealed in investigative reports from the Contra Costa County District Attorney's Office.
