Arrests Made in Drive-By Shooting That Claimed Life of 11-Year-Old Boy

Two individuals, Jose Romero and Nathen Garley, have been arrested in connection with a drive-by shooting outside an Albuquerque baseball stadium that resulted in the death of an 11-year-old boy and left another victim paralyzed. Albuquerque Police Chief Harold Medina stated that the shooting appeared to be a case of mistaken identity, with the suspects targeting the wrong vehicle. The arrests were made after investigators tracked the suspects' movements through cellphone data and social media. Both men are believed to be members of a local gang. The incident prompted New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham to temporarily suspend the right to carry firearms in public in and around Albuquerque, although a federal judge later granted a temporary restraining order blocking the governor's order.
