Birmingham's Police Chief Condemns Recent Spate of Homicides.

Birmingham Police Chief Scott Thurmond expressed concern over the recent spate of violence in the city that left four men dead in 36 hours. Three of the four homicides were acquaintance-based, and two of the four occurred inside a residence. The chief noted that all four homicides took place in residential areas. Birmingham has had 21 homicides so far this year, compared to 31 on this date in 2022. Police have not announced any arrests in the recent homicides and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
