Boston serial rape suspect caught through DNA on drinking glass

Boston police have used DNA analysis to identify and charge a suspect in the sexual assaults of four women that occurred over a decade ago. Matthew Nilo, who now lives in New Jersey, was identified as the suspect after investigators revisited the cases last year. Nilo was arraigned on multiple charges, including aggravated rape and kidnapping, and pleaded not guilty. Investigators used forensic investigative genetic genealogy to narrow the pool of potential suspects and obtained DNA evidence from utensils and drinking glasses Nilo used at a corporate event. Nilo's attorney suggested he may challenge the legality of the FBI's evidence collection.
