Christmas Tree Theft: Real-life Grinch Strikes in San Mateo
TL;DR
In the crime-ridden Bay Area, a real-life Grinch was caught on video stealing a freshly-cut Christmas tree from the roof of a car in broad daylight. The thief, driving a white SUV, cut the ropes holding the tree down and threw it into his own vehicle before driving off. San Mateo Police are still searching for the suspect, but the Christmas tree lot provided the family with a replacement tree. The Bay Area has seen a rise in robbery and motor vehicle theft this year, contributing to the overall increase in crime and the decline of businesses in the region.
