Death follows unprovoked attack outside Escondido Trump-themed home
TL;DR
An Army veteran, Kerry Sheron, 69, died after an unprovoked assault outside his Trump-themed Escondido home. Thomas Caleb Butler, 32, was charged with attempted murder, elder abuse, making criminal threats and battery, and has pleaded not guilty; prosecutors say a single punch led to a fall and further blows, with security video and witnesses detailing the attack. Butler remains jailed without bail as the case prompts community vigils and concerns about harassment tied to the home’s displays.
