Ex-state troopers face felony charges for misconduct and theft.

Former Vermont State Trooper Giancarlo DiGenova is facing multiple felony and misdemeanor charges in four separate cases, including grand larceny, neglect of duty, giving false information to police, unprofessional conduct, petit larceny, fraud, selling stolen property, and more. DiGenova is accused of stealing from property storage areas and using his position as a trooper to gain access to secure rooms. He was suspended in December and resigned in February after a bag containing valuables went missing from a property storage room. DiGenova turned himself in and is due in court on multiple dates. The Vermont State Police director called DiGenova's actions an "extraordinary betrayal of the public's trust."
