"Fatal Confrontation: Charlotte Man Killed by Officers in Domestic Violence Incident"

A man was shot and killed by police during a domestic violence call investigation in Charlotte, North Carolina. After responding to the call, officers heard gunshots and forcibly entered the apartment. A struggle ensued, during which the suspect cut one of the officers with a knife. The injured officer retreated, and a backup officer shot and killed the suspect. The injured officer and the woman involved in the domestic disturbance were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Multiple firearms were found inside the apartment, and the investigation is being conducted by the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation. The officer who shot the suspect is on paid administrative leave during the investigation.
