FBI Probes Surge of Racist Texts Targeting Minority Communities

The FBI is investigating a surge of hateful emails and text messages targeting Hispanic and LGBTQ communities, following similar racist messages sent to African American and Black residents after the 2024 election. These messages, reported in at least nine U.S. cities, include threats of deportation and re-education camps. TextNow, a mobile provider, identified and shut down accounts linked to these messages. The FBI is collaborating with the Justice Department and other authorities, urging recipients to report any threats.
