Federal Sweep Targets SoCal Sex Trafficking Ring Along Figueroa Corridor

A federal crackdown, Operation Broken Blade, arrested 10 people across Southern California in connection with sex trafficking along the Figueroa Corridor in South Los Angeles. The case links many suspects to the Hoover Gang and charges include racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking of a minor, drug trafficking conspiracy and money laundering; a federal indictment identifies 51 victims, some as young as 14. Arrests occurred across multiple locations, including residences and the Stadium Inn and Spas, where the on-site manager is accused of profiting from prostitution and concealing illicit proceeds. Officials say the abuse involved coercion and violence, and prosecutors say the crackdown will continue.
