Florida Father Convicted of Child Abuse for Locking Teen Son in Small Box

A Florida father, Timothy Ferriter, has been convicted of aggravated child abuse, false imprisonment, and neglect of a child for locking his adopted teenage son in an 8x8 windowless box in the family's garage for hours at a time. The boy, who was confined in the structure for years, testified about the dehumanizing conditions, including a bucket for a toilet and occasional water. Ferriter faces up to 30 years in prison and his sentencing is scheduled for November 16. His wife, Tracy Ferriter, is also facing the same charges, but her trial has yet to be rescheduled.
