Florida high school softball player stabbed by ex-boyfriend in murder-suicide attempt.

A former high school football player repeatedly stabbed his ex-girlfriend, a rising senior and softball star, and her mother in a restaurant in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. A bystander intervened and knocked the attacker off the victim, but was also stabbed. The attacker then cut his own throat in a suicide attempt. The victim suffered deep cuts to her spine and is in critical condition, while the attacker is also in critical condition. The victim's mother was in the process of obtaining a restraining order against the attacker. Two GoFundMe accounts have raised over $80,000 to help the victim and her family with medical costs and other expenses. The investigation is ongoing.
