The man who set off a smoke bomb and opened fire on a crowded New York City subway train last year, shooting 10 people, is expected to be sentenced today. Frank James pleaded guilty to committing a terrorist attack and firearms charge. Prosecutors have asked for a life sentence, while the defense requested 18 years. James, who had a criminal history and posted videos discussing violence, put on a gas mask, set off a smoke device, and fired a handgun at least 33 times. Ten people were shot and wounded, and 29 were hospitalized. James turned himself in after a citywide manhunt.
