Joran van der Sloot extradited to US to face charges in Natalee Holloway case.

Joran van der Sloot, the prime suspect in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway, has been handed over to US officials in Alabama to face charges of extortion and wire fraud. The charges stem from an accusation that he tried to extort the Holloway family in 2010, promising to lead them to her body in exchange for hundreds of thousands of dollars. Holloway disappeared in Aruba in 2005 and her body has never been found. Van der Sloot is currently serving 28 years in Peru for the murder of another woman.
