Jordanian National Arrested in Houston for Allegedly Planning Anti-Semitic Attack

A 20-year-old Jordanian national living in Texas, Sohaib Abuayyash, has been arrested on gun charges after allegedly plotting an attack on Houston's Jewish community. Federal officials claim that Abuayyash had been studying bomb-making and expressed support for killing Jews. He had made specific references to an event in Houston for the Jewish community on social media. Abuayyash is currently detained pending trial on charges of unlawful possession of a firearm. The FBI has been monitoring his activities since August and decided to move forward with the immediate charge of unlawful possession of firearms to take him into custody. FBI Director Chris Wray warned that the recent attack by Hamas on Israel could inspire similar attacks worldwide, including in the United States.
