Kansas City, Missouri, faced three separate shootings in 30 minutes late Sunday, with the victims surviving but two remaining in critical condition. The city has already recorded 59 homicides since the start of the year, the most since 2019, with gun violence being the prevalent cause. The city's law enforcement has been unable to solve most of the shootings, and the weapon of choice in nearly 90% of the cases is a firearm. The city is currently on track to break last year's record of 155 firearm-related homicides.
