The decision to press charges came after the Long Beach City Prosecutor's Office urged the DA to take a second look at the case and provided additional evidence. The victim, Rebekah Pederson, expressed her disbelief at the initial decision, stating that the video evidence alone should have been sufficient. Avila was arrested shortly after the incident, and the DA is requesting bail of $150,000.
