Former North Carolina U.S. Rep. Madison Cawthorn pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor after his loaded gun was found last year in his carry-on luggage at Charlotte Douglas International Airport. He was ordered to pay a $250 fine but allowed to keep the gun. Cawthorn previously admitted to having the gun at the airport and was found with an unloaded gun in 2021 while trying to get on a plane at Asheville Regional Airport.
