Daniel Penny, a Marine veteran, is expected to face criminal charges for the chokehold death of Jordan Neely on a New York subway train. Neely, who was homeless at the time, had a documented history of mental illness and had been previously arrested for incidents on the subway. Penny's attorneys claim that Neely was aggressively threatening him and other passengers, and that they acted to protect themselves.
