Missouri Art Teacher Charged with Attempted Murder for Poisoning Husband's Smoothie

Missouri high school art teacher Sarah Scheffer, 37, was charged with first-degree attempted murder and armed criminal action after her husband caught her on surveillance footage adding poisonous lily of the valley root to his smoothie. The husband had experienced symptoms of poisoning on multiple occasions and confronted Scheffer after suspecting foul play. She confessed to intentionally poisoning him and is currently incarcerated without bail.
