Mother admits to causing 4-year-old's fatal overdose in Detroit.

A mother from Detroit has been charged with felony murder, first-degree child abuse, and delivery of a narcotic causing death after confessing to giving her 4-year-old son narcotics that caused him to go into cardiac arrest and die. The child's father found the mother giving their unresponsive son chest compressions and called 911. The medical examiner found fentanyl in the boy's system, but it is unclear whether the mother knew the narcotics contained fentanyl or not. The mother is due back in court for a probable cause hearing on May 31 and a preliminary examination on June 7.
