Mother of Convicted Dentist Arrested in Murder Plot

Donna Adelson, the matriarch of a wealthy South Florida family, has been arrested at Miami International Airport for allegedly orchestrating the murder of her ex-son-in-law, Florida State University law professor Daniel Markel. Adelson's arrest comes one week after her son, Dr. Charlie Adelson, was convicted on the same charge. Authorities arrested Adelson as she and her husband were about to board a flight to Dubai and Vietnam, countries without an extradition treaty with the United States. Adelson is accused of arranging the 2014 murder of Markel, who was shot in the head in his Tallahassee garage.
