Mother of Convicted Murderer Arrested for Plotting Former Son-in-Law's Death

Donna Adelson, a 73-year-old woman from Florida, has been arrested and charged with murder, conspiracy, and solicitation in connection with the 2014 shooting death of her former son-in-law, Dan Markel. Her arrest comes a week after her son, Charles Adelson, was convicted of the same crimes. Prosecutors allege that Markel's killing was part of a murder-for-hire plot involving Donna Adelson, Charles Adelson, and others. Donna Adelson was apprehended at Miami International Airport while attempting to leave the country. She is currently being held without bond and will be transferred to Leon County for security reasons.
